Open the can of chickpeas and drain in a sieve. Add the drained chickpeas to blender or food processor.
Add remaining ingredients.
Purée ingredients until the mixture is smooth.
Pour into a serving bowl and smooth the top with a spatula. You can use the spatula to give the top a decorative swirl.
Offer pita chips or raw vegetables to dip into the hummus. Hummus also makes a good sandwich filling.

This is nice if u add cumin and cayenne pepper.

I made three modifications: 1) I blended the garlic first to make sure it pureed properly before adding the rest of the ingredients. 2) Once everything was in the blender, I added a little water to help it blend more easily. 3) I cut the salt in half. The result was a crowd-pleaser!
