Try this: tortillas
Liven up your meal with homemade tortillas!
Homemade tortillas are so satisfying, and they’re incredibly easy to make with kids. Plus, they take just 4 simple ingredients -- that you probably already have in your pantry!
To make homemade tortillas, combine 2 cups flour and half a teaspoon of salt in a large bowl, and then add ¾ cup of water and 3 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil, stirring to combine. Turn out your dough onto a large floured surface and knead 10-12 times (add a little water or flour if needed to make sure your dough is nice and smooth). Let the dough rest for 10 minutes while you preheat a skillet. Divide your dough into 8 portions (think golf ball sized balls of dough) and let your kids use a rolling pin (or their hands) to pat them as flat and thin as possible. Cook over medium heat in your skillet until they’re lightly browned, then flip and brown the other side. If you’re going to eat them right away, pop your finished tortillas onto a tray in an oven set to 170 F just to keep them warm until you have a whole stack finished.
