Privacy Policy
Your information and privacy:
Dairy Farmers of Manitoba (“DFM”) values the trust of those people we deal with and of the public, and recognizes that maintaining this trust requires that we respect, protect and safeguard the security of their personal information, honour their choices for its intended use and be transparent and accountable in how we treat the information that is shared with us. DFM is committed to protecting the privacy of youth. In this regard, DFM complies with the Code of Ethics of the Canadian Marketing Association in relation to marketing to children and teens and we encourage parents and guardians to participate in their children’s online activities.
For the Hands-On Cook-Off contest (the “Contest”), you will need to provide certain personalized information to us at www.bettertogetherbc.ca (the “Contest Website”) when submitting your cooking video, specifically your username, e-mail address and phone number. One adult member acting as Team Captain of each participating team is required to submit the entry. Once winners are selected, those persons (or, for minors, their parent or legal guardian) will be required to sign winner release forms before prizes will be awarded. Participants will also have the option, but not the obligation, to create an account on the Contest Website, which will enable them to create personal cookbooks from the recipes available on the Contest Website and keep track of videos they have submitted in the Contest. To create an account if desired, participants must enter a username, email address and password. Email address and password must be input each time a participant logs in to their account.
Your personal information will not be used, disclosed or retained for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with your permission or as permitted by law. We only collect an individual’s personal information when it is voluntarily provided and we do not sell, trade or rent any personal information to any organization for any purpose. However, DFM reserves the right to disclose information if required to do so by law.
As you participate in the Contest, other information may be collected through the use of technologies common among websites and online environments. This includes access to time and navigational data that will allow us to evaluate how you and others interact with the Contest Website. DFM uses such information to enable you to vote for a video, to enhance your use of the Contest Website and support the general website operation.
DFM will endeavour to protect the security and integrity of information collected on the Contest Website. If you have any questions about the Contest Website, or would like to be removed from our database, please contact us by phone at 204.488.6455 or toll free in MB 1.800.567.1671 or by email at: nuton@milk.mb.ca, or write to us at: 4055 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3K 2E8.
