Order up: What to ask your kids to make you for Mother’s Day

Gather in the kitchen, everyone: it's May, and it's time to show Mom some serious appreciation. We’ve rounded up our three favourite Mother’s Day gift recipes for you. They’re all easy to stir up with even the littlest family members—and believe us, the mother you’re making them for will love them.

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

They look so fancy, it's hard to believe you can whip this gift up in about 10 minutes. We love this recipe because it’s basically three steps: melt chocolate, dip strawberries in melted chocolate, thrill mother with thoughtful homemade present. And they are, of course, absolutely scrumptious.

Vanilla Body Scrub

Made with vanilla, olive oil and brown sugar, the only ingredients you need for this heavenly shower scrub are probably already in your kitchen. Just combine and stir in a big bowl (this is where little ones can be a big help), then spoon into jars and add a ribbon with a tag. Voila!

Pain Au Chocolat (Chocolate Croissants)

Put a grown-up spin on breakfast with a recipe easy enough for a kid to put together. You’ll need frozen puff pastry (which you can find in the freezer section of your supermarket) and a big bar or two of good quality chocolate. And, of course, the willpower not to eat all the chocolate before you roll the pastry around it and bake it, which is pretty much all it takes to present mom with fresh Pain au Chocolat and tell her she is superbe.

While they’re definitely perfect for a special occasion, these recipes are so easy for everyone to put together that you might want to make it Mother’s Day more often! Happy Mother's Day!
