  • Renee and I love to cook and bake together - anything goes. Last night we did roasted cauliflower (a bit of butter and sesame oil with lemon zest and pepper, sauteed in a cast iron skillet and then put in the oven), chicken, roasted potatoes and a Cesar salad with home made dressing. She comes running to help whenever I start baking or cooking in the kitchen :)

  • Homemade pizza. My kids and I make homemade pizza together. I let them spoon the tomato sauce and spread on pizza dough. I cut up broccoli, sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, kale, and grate feta and mozzarella cheese. They love spreading the toppings on the pizza and making fun designs out of the vegetables. They eat this pizza happily knowing that it was their creation. A great way to get them to eat veggies!

  • My favorite thing to do with our little girl was always baking. As young as four years old she loved to measure out the ingredients and help stir. As far as dinners went, we loved making anything with her that her dad typically wouldn't eat… Because if she had a hand in it, he just couldn't say no. That's how we got him to start liking homemade chicken pot pie ;) Now it's a household favourite.
