Step 1: Chop up fresh veggies and fruit together

Salt air and sand make everyone thirsty, so start by prepping a container or two of fresh snacks. Check out our tutorial on teaching your kid knife skills if they're new to the idea, and then get chopping.

Step 2: Make sandwiches

The perfect beach lunch from our favourite classic children’s books always includes sandwiches (Famous Five, anyone?)—so pack a ripping lunch with our sandwich suggestions

Step 3: Add snacks and treats like granola bars, muffins or cookies

A little sweet stuff always helps make a day at the beach feel celebratory. Try this no-bake granola bar recipe, or pick one of our muffin or cookie recipes to try.

Step 4: Don’t forget water and cold drinks

Step 5: Level up
