BC Egg Helps Sponsor The 2020 Kitchen Hacks Challenge!

The contest invites BC families to share their family meal hacks—whatever it is that makes cooking and eating together EASIER for you—for a chance to win cash prizes (up to $1000) and support local food banks!

From time-saving sheet pan meals to pizza quesadillas to “Kids Cook Wednesdays”, we’re loving all of the wonderful family meal hacks that have been shared in our Kitchen Hacks Challenge so far. The contest invites BC families to share their family meal hacks—whatever it is that makes cooking and eating together EASIER for you—for a chance to win cash prizes (up to $1000) and support local food banks! For the first 100 entries received, BC dairy farmers will donate $100 to Food Banks BC. They’re also matching donations for the Grand Prize and People’s Choice Prize!

And it’s wonderful partners, like our friends at BC Egg, who have helped make it possible to host this exciting challenge right now!

At times like this, we need to focus on common ingredients we already have on hand to make meals, and eggs are one of the most versatile (and not to mention: nutritious!) foods around. Did you know - adding a tablespoon of vinegar to the pot when boiling eggs makes them easier to peel? Get the 101 on cooking eggs here

So what can you do with eggs? There are SO many ways to step up your egg game and the best part: eggs are perfect for any meal! Some of our favourite ways to enjoy eggs include a delicious Spanish Omelette, some family-friendly Breakfast Tacos (choose your own toppings!), a hearty Sausage & Egg Breakfast Bake, and these Savoury Pancakes. You can also make your own fresh pasta for dinner or a lovely Lemon Whip Cake for dessert! The many ways to enjoy eggs truly are endless. The best part? All of these recipes only require minimal ingredients. Follow BC Egg on Facebook and Instagram for more fantastic recipes and tips. PS: they’re also offering lesson plans and activity sheets for young children!
